Ft. Lauderdale Swing and Shag Beach Bash depends on west coast swing community support to be successful each year and to provide its attendees with the best experience possible. We have been blessed over the years with an extremely enthusiastic and helpful team of volunteers who ensure our event meets, if not exceeds, your expectations. This year is no exception… and we would love to have you be an integral part of our event – helping us create a friendly, fun, and exciting dance-filled weekend!
You can volunteer as much or as little as you want in different “crews” – or you can be a floater and fill-in as we need where we need on the “Anything Goes Crew”!
Volunteer to work a minimum of 10 hours and receive a complimentary full weekend pass. If you can’t work at least 10 hours then receive $10.00 off for every hour worked towards your full weekend pass. Minimum required for volunteering is 6 hours. The deadline to sign-up is June 15th.
Just complete and submit the form on this page.
PICK YOUR CREW!!

Registration Crew (Chris Elwonger, Crew Leader) – Processes attendees for passes and competitions using Swing Director; processes payments; responsible for ensuring accuracy of all data entry and cash collection processes. 4-hour shifts and run from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.
Hospitality Crew (Chris Elwonger, Crew Leader) – Set up/take down/clean-up food & refreshments in Hospitality Suite and Ballroom as needed for Staff. Food provided by Agnes and Oreo’s Catering.
Security Crew (Jerry Siebe, Crew Leader) Stationed at main ballroom doors to ensure only those attendees with appropriate wristbands gain access to scheduled events. Some late night shifts will also require selling late night dance passes, giving correct change to customers, and accounting for passes sold. If you volunteer to be Security Crew during workshop hours, you may take the workshop also, after checking-in that workshop’s attendees. 2-hour shifts.
Anything Goes Crew (Michele DeRosa, Crew Leader) – Floater volunteers to fill-in as needed in whatever areas at whatever times I need you. If you don’t care which crew you are a part of, choose this one! 🙂
