Dori discovered swing dancing in 2000, when she was bicycling by Lincoln Center in New York City. Amazed by the 200 Lindy hoppers dancing under the stars to Big Band music, Dori was hooked on swing in an instant. She also took up West Coast Swing and was the first Event Director in NYC to offer a crossover dance. Many of the nation’s top professionals danced & performed at her ‘Swingin’ the Blues at The Manhattan Penthouse’ dance.
Now living in Florida, Dori has been the principal instructor at Mad Westie since 2011. Her focus is teaching young adults under 30. She enjoys the camaraderie with her “kids” at dance events. Dori competes in both the Masters and Advanced divisions.
